A Royal Wedding

You’d have to be living in the middle of the jungle if you’ve not heard of the forthcoming Royal Wedding. Even though the news was only made public two weeks ago the story has never been out of the headlines. There has been speculation on everything from what the dress will be to where they will go on their honeymoon. At least both the date and the venue have been declared but that won’t stop the media stories in the run up to the event.

Even now, the first book on the royal couple has been published and is on sale. I wish the best of luck to the bride and groom to be but don’t look forward to the news stories that we will have to endure over the next 6 months until the wedding date.

Unfair Supermarket Offers!

Supermarket promotions are everywhere at the moment, especially in the run up to Christmas, but be careful what offers you take them up on. Trading standards have reported that some of these promotions have pricing errors which are confusing customers. For example some offers advertise that it costs £1 for one item, or 2 for £3.

It is obvious to many of us that that we would be better off just buying the one item, but for others such as the elderly it can be confusing; and more than that, what if I do want to buy two items. I would be better off buying one today, than coming back later to buy the second item.

With the economy the way it is everyone’s looking for a good deal, but it doesn’t seem like the supermarkets are wanting to offer them to us., so next time you do your weekly shopping, make sure to the check the promotions carefully.

Sex and the City 2 Gets Released on Monday?

Good news for Sex and the City fans, as tomorrow sees the release of the second film on DVD and Blu-ray. If you haven’t already seen it, it’s definitely worth a watch. It sees the girls getting out of New York and taking a vacation to remember. Some of the funniest scenes are those that show the girls having flashbacks to the time they first met, with some very interesting fashion statements.

Sex and the City is such as huge brand, with everyone from clothing to perfume brands wanting to associate themselves with it. As there’s such large amount of money to be made it seems only likely that a third movie could be on the cards. Here’s hoping!!

Ann Widdecombe – Strictly Entertaining, or Strictly Silly?

If like me, you watch Strictly Come Dancing you’ll be aware of the controversy surrounding one contestant in particular….Ann Widdecombe. The ex-politician has survived in the competition week after week, even though her dancing skills are some what lacking.

Anne Widdecombe herself has said that she is having the time of her life on the show, but many question whether she should still be there, when other more talented contestants find themselves being voted off.

I myself admire Ann for what she is doing. She does not claim to be a fantastic, talented dancer, she is simply doing her best and in doing so is providing good entertainment for viewers. After all, entertainment is what Saturday evening TV is all about. Good Luck Ann!!!

Fresh Snow Continues to Fall

The UK is currently experiencing its earliest winter snowfall in 17 years. It’s a real winter wonderland out there in many places, but even though the snow makes for beautiful scenery it is treacherous out there on the roads. Whitby has experienced 10 inches of snowfall over the past few days which has brought down trees. There were also reported tailbacks of 26 miles on the M4 in south Wales on Friday evening due to the snow.

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for heavy snow in Scotland and north east England, with the cold weather set to last for at least another week, so wrap up and try to stay warm.
