Many individual’s prophesies the world’s end, but here we are. A film has been made with the same name and concept. It involves meteor storms, vast floods, earthquakes and tornado’s . Though it is an interesting how this belief has continued since the Aztec all the way through to modern civilisation, though what remains to be asked is ‘why 2012′?

Recently a Manchester United fan bought his team’s strip with the number 96 (referring to the amount of Liverpool fans who died) with the initials YBS (meaning ‘You Scouse B*sterds), along with the words ‘not enough.
The individual seemed to take pride in his buy, by posting his shirt on facebook. This would have no doubt caused distress for the families of those who died at Hillsborough and a spokesman for the t shirt company involved insisted the employee whom made the shirt had no idea of the implications printed on the shirt and future attempts will be rejected.

Even with the best league in the world (Premier League), England still haven’t managed to prosper in tournaments since 1966. They are within the top 10 teams in the world and have had to take on an Italian in Fabio Capello to have a chance of gaining such silverware. The famous northern soap drama is now being moved from the usual Wednesday night slot to a new Thursday night slot. For over fifty years, fans of the show are used to watching the show at 7:30pm but due to football matches being favoured during the European League instead, bosses have rescheduled the show.
It comes into a night when EastEnders holds a 8.30pm slot, however, the show will be aired at a different time so that if fans watch both shows, this will not interfere. Though this may disrupt a fifty year tradition, it allows fans to sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy their show without any cancellations.
