Andy Green the current land speed record holder at 763mph is set to return to try and break his own record aiming for a 1000mph target.
The team requires 10 million pounds in funding to allow them to attach a 400kg rocket to a 1000kb eurofighter (typhoon) engine in hope to break the record.
The engine will be lent to the team from one of the eurofighters currently in development.
The project has been ongoing since last october 2008 with Lockheed Martin designing the specially made aluminium wheels and Intel allowing the use of their super computers for advanced modelling / simulations.
